What is IELTS?
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the world's most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. It has two main types: Academic (for study) and General Training (for work/migration). In Bangladesh, the test is strictly Computer-Based (Paper-based is no longer available). The registration fee usually ranges between 25,000 - 30,000 BDT.

Test Format Breakdown
Reading
3 Long Passages. Common question types: True/False/Not Given, Matching Headings, Multiple Choice, and Fill in the Blanks.
Writing
Task 1: Describe a graph, chart, map, or process (min 150 words). Task 2: Write a formal essay in response to a point of view or argument (min 250 words).
Listening
4 Parts: (1) Everyday conversation, (2) Everyday monologue, (3) Academic conversation, (4) Academic monologue. Types include matching, map labeling, and form completion.
Speaking
Part 1: Intro & familiar topics (4-5 mins). Part 2: Speak on a given topic cue card (2 mins). Part 3: Deep discussion related to Part 2 (4-5 mins).
